The proverbial writer reveals the characteristics of wisdom as truth, justice and righteousness. Together they construct a path that leads to success, prosperity and long life. The question for the reader (then and now) is “What do we want?” Do we want to dig down deep into the treasures of wisdom or do we want to stay on the surface and simply go our own way? May we make our choice “to hear instruction and be wise” and receive the promise of life and blessing from the Lord (v35).
