The story of Jesus' transformation on the high mountain with Peter, James and John is a bold reminder from Mark of Jesus' true identity as the Son of God. The Gospel writer reminds us that Jesus is both a Galilean carpenter and the Messiah/Christ, the Anointed One of God who is uniquely qualified to redeem forever all who come to him in faith. Not only that but we (his followers) will also experience our own transformation into the glorious likeness of Jesus because of the divine mercy and grace of our loving God.
