Jeremiah 29:10-14

The prophet Jeremiah exhorts the first wave of exiles to Babylon to embrace their new reality in a strange land. They are not there as slaves but as immigrants to a new place and culture. The challenge they face is to receive this time as a new opportunity and not to waste it by moping around. This is a special ‘Kairos’ time to draw closer to God and really develop an intimate relationship with him. We are invited to respond as Jeremiah announces the word of the Lord, “When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart.”
