Joe Abbey-Colborne, Director of Faith in the City, encourages us to think about how we can respond in solidarity with those of the Muslim faith who experienced this attack on Sunday, January 29 in Quebec City.
I am asking all of us; people of every faith, faith and civic leaders, neighbours, and people who care about Toronto and our world, to come together.
Let us Stand Up.
Let us Speak Out;
for compassion for our neighbours who are touched by grief and fear.
To encourage each other, and transform this fear and hate filled act in our sister community of Quebec City, into grace, connection, solidarity and support that will draw close the bonds of our community.
If some might seek to sow fear and division, let us choose to sow and nurture compassion and unity.
How will we reach out in Christ's love?
