Early Childhood Development Initiative
We are thrilled to share with the church family initiatives that our church members are engaging in.
Patricia and Olumuyiwa Falope have been working for many years to establish ECDI, an organization that works to empower West African children and families.
Having first established their expertise in Africa, they have recently setup a base in Weston (1834 Weston Road). Here ECDI serves newcomer West African students, age 6-12, and their Families living in Weston, Mount Dennis & Humber River-Black Creek areas (resident less than 5 years).
ECDI is a Host Organization of the new Ontario Student and Family Advocate (SFA) program, designed to address anti-Black racism in schools and increase Black student achievement.
Their services include:
• Child and family play and learn programs • Culturally relevant parent workshops • Child development supports • Community linkages and referrals • SFA program supporting Black student success • Research
