Our Mission

Receiving Grace. Giving Grace.

Volunteering

As a community of people serving Jesus Christ, we want to encourage everyone to participate in the life of the church community in whatever way they possibly can. There are numerous ways to be involved at the church with groups and individuals, all age groups and with different levels of involvement.

Here's a list of those areas and who to contact:
  • Bible School - provides classes for children from ages 4 to 12 each Sunday to learn about Christ.
    Co-ordinator: Diane Huff

  • Crow's Nest - is a program designed for children ages 4-11yrs to have a fun time together and learn about Christ.
    Crow's Nest Co-ordinator: Jennifer Crawford

  • Nursery - provides a safe place for parents to leave their children (up to 3 years old) during the Sunday morning worship service.
    Co-ordinator: Teres Edmonds

  • Frontlines - is a ministry to local community of Weston. A variety of programs are offered to support and encourage people of all ages. These programs rely upon the assistance of volunteers to make them run meaningfully.
    Interim Director: Kristy Grisdale

  • Property Team - This group of individuals looks after the church facility to ensure that all is working well for the many groups using the building. People with fix-it skills or with just an eagerness to help out are needed in this area.
    Co-ordinator: Martin Barrera

  • Stewards - are our money counters. Each Sunday these church members take time to count the offering and deposit it in the bank.
    Co-ordinator: Jennie Steenwyk

  • West Park Health Centre Worship Service - Every second Sunday a group of volunteers goes to West Park Health Centre to share a simple worship service with the those who are staying at the Centre. Volunteers area always welcome and needed.
    Co-ordinator: Cassandra Coster

  • Ushers - Each Sunday the ushers help to provide a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for our morning worship service. Serving for a month at a time, they help people as they arrive and during the service in whatever way they are able.
    Co-ordinator: Glenda Lloyd

Teams

Weston Park's organizational structure is meant to assist as many as possible to be as involved as they are able. Various teams offer leadership to specific areas of church life. Below is a listing of the various teams and their focus.
  • The Deacons - provide overall leadership to the ministry of the church. "Our mission is to serve as leaders and act in the best interests of our church community as together we prayerfully seek and follow God's will and Mission."
    Chair: David Geldart

  • KRA(Key Result Areas)- The KRA structure is relatively new for Weston Park. It divides up the areas of church's life and mission into logical and manageable packets for a group of individuals to minister in. The KRAs provide opportunity for more individuals in the church family to be involved in specific areas of ministry.

Care & Nurturing KRA - Our Mission: To identify physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs within the church body and to facilitate the development of a support network through which we collectively respond to these needs in a sensitive and timely manner.

Stewardship & Finance KRA - Our Mission: To ensure that we effectively and efficiently manage the financial and property resources with which we have been entrusted.
