engaging

“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”
Martin Luther King Jr.

The desire to engage in a life of faith with one another, our city, country and world  challenges us to ongoing action as a faith community.  Certain activities, rooted in tradition, continue to thrive and grow.  At other times we seek to engage the concerns of others in new and fresh ways.

the calendar

Find out about the various regular and special events that are going on in and through our church community. Through regular involvement, we continue to learn what this life is like that Christ has called us to.

Habar

Weston Park adopted the word Habar at the beginning of our journey of exploration into how we can best use our church property. The word habar is taken from a verse in Joshua 3:1-4. It means “we have not been this way before” and encompasses courage, fear, excitement, careful listening to God’s directing and wise planning. The Habar Team is a group of people from Weston Park that are giving leadership to this process.

Prayer

At Weston Park prayer is an important part of our walk of faith both individually and as a church community. To assist us in praying together and for one another we have a number of avenues for sharing items we would like others to pray about.

  • The Prayer Chain a way for Weston Park to share prayer concerns and know that they will be prayed for in a confidenctial and timely manner. Through it we are able to respond quickly to urgent needs that arise or offer up prayers of thanks for answered prayer. It is available to the whole church family.
  • Prayer Partners are a group of people matched up into pairs in order to pray for each other on a regular basis.
  • The Weekly Prayer List is a produced each week with the church bulletin and is a list of prayer requests and notes of praise from our church family.
